BBC New Comedy Award final review by Chortle.
"Before Buchanan was announced winner, my money might have been on William Stone, since this Brighton-based comic is such an excellent writer of quirky one-liners. Some are obtuse takes on familiar words and phrases which he makes unfamiliar, others just offbeat thoughts that come from nowhere.
He’s very much in the mould of Milton Jones – right down to the slightly Dazed and Confused look that radio cannot capture – and how best lines are worthy of the Mock The Week regular. The man surely has a solid career in comedy ahead of him, as, indeed, do all his fellow finalists."

Voice Mag review of "Pals" - William Stone & Simone Belshaw
"William Stone tells one-liners that make you think ‘I wish I’d written that’. Introduced again by our creepy phone friend, he ensures every moment of silence is meant, and drawn out to almost uncomfortable stretches with excellent comic timing. Stone’s quick-witted writing style is contrasted by his awkward on-stage persona, and both are hilarious, belting out snappy gags supported by great characterisation, and touching on clown-like physicality."
